Omnia flash and hard reset

Omnia Instructoins

to get the phone to show up you may need to do the following:

on the phone go to menu/settings/system/Data Connections.

change to As the modem through USB


Edit MMC file with mdn and write to phone.





WAP same as Q or

go to start/settings/connections/connections/advanced/select networks.

select My Work Network for both.

now go to start/settings/connections/connections/tasks

click where it says manage existing connections

click edit and rename to Cricket web and next

then dial number is #777and click next

[Only registered and activated users can see links]
password: Cricket
Domain: leave blank

click finish

now go to Proxy settings

click both boxes and click advanced.

for [Only registered and activated users can see links] wap.mycricket.com and port 8080.

MMS

go to messaging/MMS then go to menu/MMS Options/ Profiles/edit profile.

settings should look like this

MMS Profile: MMS
MMSC: [Only registered and activated users can see links]
Data Connections: Cricket web
Gateway: None



MMC: [hide-thanks][Only registered and activated users can see links][/hide-thanks]

hard reset:

1. Poke the soft reset hole beside your power button(Poke and Release)
2. Press and hold the Call and Cancel Button together(Do it immediately after Step 1)
3. Do not release Call and Cancel button, the Samsung Omnia Screen Appear
4. The Reset Screen will appear as below

Hey bigglou very nice write up on that omnia I want to know if I have more than 1 omnia to flash can I just write that mmc file and after activation of that phone all the features will work?

you will still have to edit the wap/mms settings. use the q wap method (delete-n-set.xml). I used that today and it worked great. I had to tell it which connection to use for mms, but that's it.

Just a little tip after the Hard Reset if someone got stuck in the ALIGN SCREEN...try this... create this file 'welcome.not' and then put it in your memory card. then reboot your Omnia....Problem Solved.. (This is from XDA-DEVELOPERS)
