If you attempt to flash the AX8600 directly to the VX8600 you will brick your phone. Not a good thing. But there is a solution:

First, install the US Cellular DLL and write the US Cellular bin to the phone. Here is the download link for that:

Next: Flash the BIN/SCR/PRL for VX8600 and bam your done. And now you can fully flash this to Cricket.

Nice find Smitty. I havent played with the alltel version of this yet, but can you not script it straight from Alltel to cricket?

Very helpful post! VERY!! I don't want to brick the phone I'd LIKE to be able to give to my son when he gets home! But if one doesn't work, FLASH ANOTHER....

There's not an actual cricket dll file, get the phone on vx8600 firmware first then flash by editing the settings. I made a custom flash for this one bout 2 years ago with cricket boot up videos and menus changed somewhat but mainly based of the verizon bin. It would allow you do *228 and everything worked. I will see if I can find it on my external and re-upload to mediafire soon.
