On certain SCP-XXXX, (let's just say you've tried the memory locations without any luck) use CDMA Workshop v2.7.0, connect your phone and navigate to the Security tab. Under the SPC box, select "Universal, EFS Method" and you under the NVM file select "nvm/nvm/nvm_0002." If you get an EFS Read error then this method will not work. If you do not get your SPC from nvm/nvm/nvm_0002 then go down the list of all available options within the EFS method. I've only done this method a handful of times on 3200's, 3800's, and 3810's after the memory addresses have failed to retrieve the SPC. So far this procedure works about 80% of the time for me. Note: This procedure should be treated as a last-ditch effort to obtain the SPC if all else has failed. It tends to run very low success rate with the 2700's.
Due to lack of Sanyo phone I see and flash, I really would like to get this method verified by a few other people. Thanks.

Verified, I actually use this method first because it is the quickest to check the 4 or so locations in the efs before i move onto the spc reads, another method is if you have exhausted all other options is to go to the memory tab in the latest cdma workshop and click read memory, and you should see a few items appearing in the log below like
unable to read
read 1200-1880
unable to read
read 4000-4a00
etc
so now to get the spc you have ranges, you will need to read the second readable range that is listed in cdma workshop so you would need to go back to security, spc nv read method and the address would be 4000-4a00
sometimes this is a huge memory address and can take awhile but it will retrieve the spc.

how come my cdma workshop wont let me input a end #?? i can put in like 01de in the first box but the 2nd box is greyed out and says 0000 and i keep getting this error
process is stopped phone does not answer
the problem is ur not using custom for the addy thats the onlyway u can select the bytes in length also notice that u have to give a ending addy and a length in bytes

Ok I will post exactly what I am doing step by step I must be doing something wrong because it still wont work.
Open WS
Click Com port my phone is on.
click read to make sure it pulls up my phones info
click security
under the spc section click the drop down and select universal ram method
click read
choose address pops up and lets me input into the first box which i try like 01DE
then there is a colon : and a grey box with 0000 that i cannot edit to put in the following address
then below that there is bytes 65536
then below that a drop down that i leave at custom
any pointers with this info???

I just did a flash on a Katana LX that gave me some issues and I thought I'd share in case someone else has these issues. When I scanned the included preset I got no codes. When I used the additional presets I've found on here the phone would stop responding when it hit certain ranges. I had the allow it to scan and error out then skip ranges until it stopped. Eventually I reached a range that gave me 6 codes. The right one was at 023E:B8CB, 023F:3F7B, and 023F:41E7. A scan between 033E and 023F did not cause the phone to reset, so that would seem to be a safe range to add in your presets.

The pro-700 has given me one result with the spc every single time with 0232-0233. Saved me a lot of time when I had 20 to do.
Thought it might help someone else some.

You can either enter the line "Sanyo PRO-700:0232:0233" into the presets.txt file in the same directory as your cdma ws executable and use universal RAM method with the preset chosen from the dropdown menu or under the security tab under SPC/User Lock choose Universal RAM method from the dropdown. From there choose manual. Start address would be 0232:0000 and End Address is 0233:0000. That should be a scan of 65536 which is really quick. I'm sorry if that was too thorough. I talk to customers all day and have to assume people need steps. If that doesn't solve your problem then please clarify where you are unable to enter the end address. Like, is it greyed? When you enter it does it error out?

You enter the end address in the box under that. The greyed section is not what you need to change. That is for more exact scans. Just put the start string in the first non-greyed box and the end in the second non-greyed box.

Dear Your are very helpfull, Thanks,
But again I am sorry to say that my problem is still not resolved.

Open & connect the WS with phone.
On security Tab in SPC section I chose the RAM method.
Give the values as under:
Start Address = 0232:0000
Size(bytes) = 0233
But again error comes that "0 Security Code have been found"
Please give solution.
Thanks in advance.

ohh hey I figured it out. I've never used the pirated one. The easy answer is pay for it. The less easy answer is
Start Address = 0232:0000
Size(bytes) = 65536

Its mean this forum is helpless for me. I am sorry to disturbe you all. I have purchase this phone of 85$. but now I think my money is lost. Because I hav'nt idea to read SPC/MSL. Its very sad for me. Any body can tell me the software or any website to unlock this phone. I will pay of it.
Sorrrrrrrrry.

I gave you the address and length to scan from within cdma ws 2.7
Also, you can get the newest version of cdma workshop at [Only registered and activated users can see links]
CDMA Workshop is very good software and the common opinion in this forum is that it is worth the money. That is why you will likely get an answer to buy the software most times. There are long ways to do any phone. Most of them are posted here. Some guides may need some adapting.
A start may be [Only registered and activated users can see links] where you can find spc reading tools. I've never had to use them, so ymmv.
If reading the forum really isn't helping at all then I'm sure there is a person close by that can do the process for you for a fee.
