For those flashing to Pocket Smart Wireless (TX). Northeast territory "may" be different. If it is, please upload it here.

Yea you're SOL on that fact. None of the reputable dealers will put the phone on Pocket. There are a few guys who are doing it, but they're doing it illegally with ESN/MEID Modification. A few others have people in Pocket's ranks that have access to the database and can add serial numbers directly. I wish I had that type of connection.

HAHA yeah I know...I really dont like doing it the other way! For now we just dont do it..but they still support a good amount of phones we can still add web to....
I just wish there was other ways! Thanks!

I'd search on eBay, as I stumbled upon a few 'legit' re-sellers that are in fact selling pre-paid Smart and SIM cards for dirt cheap. Those cards don't come with a handset, but you do get the genuine's ESN/MEID numbers that belongs to the new activation dismantled bundle. All that are selling SIMs for GSM are proved to work. I just bought the Smart (CDMA) for an LG LX265 to test it out. If that works, this will be to switch PRL from Solo Mobile to whatever provider my friend decides to go with. I'll keep y'all posted.
This is a prime example of hijacking, rather deliberate or not. A hijack is defined as posting off topic and creates confusion for other members and promotes worthless posts like this \|/
What does any of that have to do with Pocket and the PRL? WTF
Although you have a point here you are also hijacking the thread and promoting the confusion. I suggest in the future to use the report post button for posts like this instead of posting like this to up your post count.
Thread reopened per request of thread starter to add future contributing info.

Ok, I don't know when Pocket pushed this out to their phones, but I saw this when flashing a phone yesterday and upped it to my phone. [Only registered and activated users can see links]
Pocket is now on PRL 9. I do not know what exactly this does but it's my guess that we're getting EVDO with this PRL (OR) this is the updated PRL to make it compatible with Cricket once the networks merge.
Note: I have yet to see EVDO on my phone after *228. I also get a weird error message on my Touch Pro when trying to authenticate internet using PRL 9. The weirdest thing about this error is the fact that after ignoring the error, the internet continues to work. (Hence the reason I believe this is the beginning of EVDO for Pocket).

Oh so that's why I have better coverage now at home. With PRL 8 I would barely get 2 bars at home, now with PRL 9 I get 3-4 all the time. How would I check to see if EVDO is available?

You wait for Pocket to announce it. Their customer support doesn't even know what PRL 9 is yet so just have to wait and see. I'm hoping that we'll see an EVDO phone pop up and I'll get the username/password combo from it. Course with all the speculation, I'm thinkin I should try the cricket evdo settings and see if that gives me evdo :P

The new PRL has roaming SIDs from Verizon, Alltel, MetroPCS, and T-mobile. I only saw one instance of T-Mobile, the rest are either Verizon, or Alltel. I think the list might be old though.

Well...PRL 9 is the latest for us...the "Pretty Good" rumor mill says that Pocket will become Cricket end of September. Pocket customers will be grandfathered in on their plans, but I don't think that'll include EVDO. For 3g, you'll probably have to change plans to one of Crickets. The end is near...the sky is falling lol. It's been a good 3 year run :p

Would that mean we can flash to cricket as well for Pocket people? Cause Laredo is AWS for Cricket. I hope at least we could use the cricket settings for 3G and MMS.

No, not at the moment. There are no indications that we are Cricket yet. Just yesterday a customer of mine couldn't get Pocket to switch his number because it wasn't flashed to Pocket by Houdini (or at least didn't show on their end). Things are business as usual until the beginning of October. If you have any Perks Points...use them now while you can. I highly doubt Cricket will honor them. ( You can use up to $40 worth of points per month on paying your bill )
