Samsung may force Apple to turn over a copy of the recent patent-licensing deal it struck with HTC, reports Reuters. The move could undermine Apple's legal battle with Samsung depending on how the settlement with HTC is worded. Specifically, Samsung wants to know if the settlement covers all of Apple's patents, or if it excludes Apple's "user experience" patents. Apple has previously said it would not license patents that pertain to its user experience. At the same time, Apple wants Samsung's phones banned in the U.S. for copying its designs and user experiences. If the settlement between HTC and Apple does in fact cover the user experience patents, Samsung would have a better chance of preventing a ban of its products. The judge overseeing the $1.05 billion verdict against Samsung is hearing arguments in the case with respect to potential damages on December 6.
