Verizon iPhone4 won't activate?

I have a Verizon iPhone 4 that refuses to activate. I continually get the error message (iPhone is not activated. If problem persists contact customer service.) I have flashed the phone to cricket, but never had a phone act like this. Did this mean the phone is permanently locked to Verizon? It has a bad ESN so I can't activate it on my Verizon account to get rid of the error. Cricket customer service is having trouble putting the phone in the system. Anyone familiar with this problem?

Doesn't matter, phone wouldn't activate prior to flashing. I flashed it myself and the settings are written correctly. I've done about 20 and this is the only one that had caused a problem.

you don't have to give him attitude was just a question, probably to necessary to see if he could help you

Since you done lot the same way before I would try to reload the os and start over. I would try programing a working number in it that is from another phone.
You have 2 different troubles and they are not related.
1- phone not activated is from itunes
2-cricket will not activate it could be another of things.

It would help if you told what method you use to flash it.

I may have a workaround if you are in a metropcs coverage area.

Cricket customer service is having trouble putting the phone in the system.Are you in an AWS area? Does cricket give a reason they can't add the ESN to the account? What did you flash it with? DFS? CDMAIPHONETOOL? Other solution? Without knowing how it was flashed people can't offer much help and only speculations.
I could speculate and say it's a network problem, and the fact that cricket claims they no longer allow flash iphones to be added to accounts could contribute. Other speculations would be a small error like corrupt PRL, etc. But those are just speculations.

If it's on Metro, just *228 to up date roaming list. Then it will be activated

I have the same or similar problem. I have verizon iphone 4 , ios 5.1.1, trying to flash w/DFS for a week. DFS will take 20 min then close accessories connection. DFS recognizes my phone as activated. I have also added meid to my metro pcs acct. online . The only way I've been able to stop "not activated" pop up is to de-activate through SAM . I have restored to stock 5.1.1, rejailbroken installing only open SSH and Commcenter patch from v.backspace.jp/repo/ to no avail. different usb cords, different jailbreaks.....NADA! I had success on one phone before but my wife lost it 8 days later. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I did the team view thing w/cdma tool support

What is your work around? I have a v-iphone 4 that amoare's cricket #226 NAM programing would not work on . I am now in Metro Pcs ota coverage in Temecula Ca. Can Metro pcs do my NAM ota? Do I have to tell them it's an HTC EVO? I've allready placed it's MEID on my acct online. Thanks for any advice and thanks for hosting commcenter patch in your repo. I have been trying to set up this phone through DFS/CDMATOOL but to no avail. I have even gone the teamview help route twice w/ Ivan from DFS twice. NADA. Are you near Naples? I have a few friends down there who need flashing. Thanks in advance for any reply, Jimbo

Hello Jimbo,

Sometimes you can ota the evo 4g on metro if your spc is set to the metro spc which you can calculate many different ways. We are located in Naples and Ft. Myers and if you want to send some people over I'd be happy to remotely take care of your issue and have you up and running in about ten min.

Yes in order to Get it Activated you have to Call *228 and press 5 for latest roaming list, then it will finish and say its updated then you'll be stuck with that Circle with 2004 PRL so you'll have to Reflash, but phone will be activated forsure if its a Verizon iphone, Sprint Iphone im still having trouble with OTA Activating with *228, i posted a question addressing sprint iphone OTA Updating and Noone has offered any suggestions or advice, glad to see their more then helpful with this thread -_-

the problem with the sprint one is that ota is disabled in 3 places by default,so if you used my tool to flash simply load my bundle it fixes that,which is why i asked the op what service he used,but he became all butt hurt about it,anyway this thread is 4 months old and pretty much dead,the op is not posted or answered this thread so i am closing it.
anyone feel free to start another thread on this subject with your specific needs in the iphone forum if you wish.
