MMS Solution for verizon iphone flashed to metropcs........

I've finally done it..... the solution to get mms working on a verizon iphone flashed to metropcs is quite easy. First I would like to give respect to "Rich Hathaway" for all his hard work surrounding the cdma iphone. Without rich I would really be lost on all this. Also "Whitey10c", "amoamare", "------------", "dex", and all the other heavy hitters on this forum that has helped in the past and will help in the future. Also I want to thank the guys who created and manage the easyflashstudio repo. cant be done without that commcenter patch either. Last and definately not least- I wanna thank cdmagurus.com for creating a place for me to sharpen my skills and make a career out of something I really love to do. *Easiest way= Add my cydia repo and install my mms fix package from marley183rd's Repository - MyRepoSpace.com ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) must have commcenter patch for "ALL" methods

*Easier= just install commcenter patch and tetherme then edit your mmsc in apn settings to [Only registered and activated users can see links]

*My prefered way below=
requirements:
1: jailbroken and flashed verizon iphone already activated on metropcs with 3g data working. (only tested on 5.0.1 and 5.1.1)
2: commcenter patch from cydia.easyflashstudio.com
3: download iFile from cydia--I got mine from the xsellize repo
4: open iFile and navigate to /System/Library/Carrier Bundles/iPhone/Zeppelin_US.bundle
5: open carrier.plist with plist viewer and open "AllowedMultimodeSIMs"/20404
6: open MMS and scroll down to MMSC and change to [Only registered and activated users can see links]
7: back out to carrier.plist and scroll down to MMS and open.
8: scroll down to MMSC again and change to [Only registered and activated users can see links] like in step 6.
9: click done and exit ifile.
10: reboot and you should now have mms working with no probs.

i prefer the longer way. I never had a problem that way but all methods have been tested by me on verizon iphone. I suggest you be on ios 5.1.1 for best results...

yes that should work fine. but if you have a problem i suggest restarting your phone and try again. if it still does'nt work the short way. then obciously use the long method.

marley, the Verizon cdma iphone mms to metropcs its not a problem the harder one is sprint cdma the mms to metropcs will be appreciated if you have a solution for it

i can tell you this about the spr to metro pcs 3g and mms solution.

it is possible but.. it is a very difficult solution.my bundle will be included in the version 2 of the tool

i dont know of another working solution for the sprint phone,we are working hard to get the next version out.

i built something like over 20 bundles before it was finally concieved,it was the most difficult bundle i have made yet and what works on vzw does not work on sprint iphone

believe me i know rich. That's why I made sure to label the thread vzw iphone on metropcs. I'm still trying to get a hold of a sprint iphone for further testing but it's hard when I have to work all day then go home tired. I'll figure it out when i get my hands on one though.

Marley - does this require any IPCC from metropcs? The reason why I ask is I am using my carrier mobipcs and I am sure I have the mmsc settings right and made changes as you described however, mine fails almost immediately. I am on 5.1.1 everything else works on the phone with the exception to send MMS msgs.

well I dont know really anything about mobipcs. I've seen posts claiming that they have verizon iphones on mobipcs in hawaii with everything working but not much more detail. Which one of the methods did you use to set your mms settings? you might wanna go back into carrier.plist and check the MaxMessageSize to make sure that the value is over 1,000,000. sometimes it gets set to 1 and mms fails immediately because all mms are bigger than 1 obviously.

I cant get those settings to stick, only the MMSC settings will stick but yes you are correct the MaxMessageSize is set to 1.

I'm new to this, I bought a iphone 4 already flashed with only talk and text and tried to add the mms I dont now what I did and I cant make any outbound calls from the phone but I can receive calls and also cant text or use mms. Can you help. Thanks..

First of thanks Marley for this tut , I got my iphone flashed to metro already, I got talk, text , web, mms incoming, not outgoing, for some some reason I tried to figure how to make mms work outgoing , i followed the long solution Marley posted even the other "easier" easiest" ..my flashed metro end up with talk and text only! I lost my MMS and Web. What should be the problem. is it the Commcenter patch that I got or do I need to update Prl? I run out of solution. please anybody help. appreciated!! thanks!
